CFI's CAD and Resource Group ultimately take your space and express it utilizing dimensional and product elements “on paper.” This highly skilled team joins a project once the sales representative and client have determined the overall budget, end-user job function and aesthetic. Early on, the in-house resource group and sales rep will work closely to design one or multiple workstation typical, including the specific product, size, and configuration. This information will be largely determined by the information gained from early and ongoing conversations with the client as well as the design/architecture firm, if applicable. Often, our in-house team will respond with both plan view and isometrics of the typicals as well as preliminary pricing to ensure the client is as thoroughly informed as possible.

Once the typicals are agreed upon, our resource group will begin to space plan the facility on AutoCAD software. This is done using blue prints, field measurements and, ideally, architect-provided floorplans via disk or email. The space plan process enables the resource group to support the maximum number of employees in a given area, at maximum efficiency. At this point, the resource group will also verify existing condition variances, such as columns and windows, which will affect the block plan. They will also make allowances for special needs such as space for open plan meetings and for large equipment or storage.

Next, the technicalities of each specific system chosen will be applied, with no detail left unturned. Using 20/20 Technologies ® software, the resource group will specify every single part and piece needed to build the workstation. All bracketry, electrical components and finishing pieces will be accounted for. A bill of materials is then generated which will be used by the Sales Coordinators to quote and order the product. Before handing off the specifications, the resource group does a final check, often with the assistance or "second eyes" of another colleague in the group.
